December 21, 2012 is suppose to be the end of the world according to the Mayan Calendar. I want my money back. I came back up front at 12:01am and the whole freakin’ world is still here. False advertising! Just a bunch of hype!
(like the other dozen or more apocalypses I’ve survived in my short life)
But really, did anyone seriously buy this whole Mayan thing? I mean, they had to put an end to the calendar. It couldn’t have gone on forever. I mean, really. So, 2012 looks like to be a bust. People seem more and more desperate to annihilate the planet through unforseeable means. Is that a sign of the times. (I can just hear my zealous Christian brothers and sisters telling me we’re in the End Times)
Of course, we’ve been in the End Times since Jesus ascended into heaven. I’m not mocking the fact He will return. In fact, I hope He returns in my lifetime. But when Jesus comes back he won’t be using the calendar of a long extinct civilization; He’ll be using His own.
Be @PEACE my friends. We’ve survived another apocalypse and still have much to look forward to in this life and the life to come. I leave you with this: I Am Sure by Michael W. Smith
